The White Lotus finale's run time confirmed - and it's the show's longest ever
The White Lotus' third season has been a smash hit among viewers and to mark the end of the series, HBO have extended the finale episode to its longest run time so far
The White Lotus' final episode will be the longest so far.
The satirical drama, this year set in Thailand, is coming to an end and HBO has confirmed that season three's last instalment will be a whopping 90 minutes long.
For reference, season two's finale was extended to 78 minutes. Fans of The White Lotus have been piecing together the puzzle in an attempt to figure out who dies.
Each season of the show begins with a shot of a dead body found somewhere on the resort in a flash-forward scene, and the events of the series unfold as viewers attempt to figure out who is the mystery body.
Another major change has occurred to the series. A show regular has decided to quit ahead of season four, which will have a major affect on one crucial part of the show.
The White Lotus' theme tune used in the first and second series is legendary, however the third season moved away from the iconic sound. Cristóbal Tapia de Veer has worked on the theme since the beginning, however he will not be part of the team any longer.
He spoke to The New York Times about his idea to leave and told the team he would be going, but didn't tell show writer Mike White.
"Maybe I was being unprofessional, and for sure Mike feels that I was always unprofessional to him because I didn’t give him what he wanted. But what I gave him did this, you know — did those Emmys, people going crazy."
Fans of the show can't believe the composer will be leaving The White Lotus and took to social media to share their disappointment.
One person gushed that his music "IS The White Lotus" while another said: "This show would not be what it is without you, and whoever comes next has some big shoes to fill."
According to reports, The White Lotus' theme tune almost never existed. Cristóbal explained that when he got the script, he "wasn't sure it was something for him" because the show was "very well written".
"But there's a realty TV kind of vibe going on, and comedic. My stuff in general is the opposite of this, it's super dark and edgy."
