Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center hosted a conference on Investing in Ukraine in partnership with Burisma Group

KYIV, UKRAINE, November 6, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, the Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center hosted a conference on Investing in Ukraine in partnership with Burisma Group.

The event brought together top experts, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss current investment climate in Ukraine and the most effective means for moving forward.

Welcoming remarks came from the Director of the Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center and the US Ambassador to Ukraine (2003-2006) Mr John E. Herbst. The roundtable discussion moderated by the editor-in-chief of VOA’s Ukrainian Service Ms. Myroslava Gongadze was joined by thought leaders, including Senior Fellow at Dinu Patriciu EurasiaCenter of the Atlantic Council Dr. Anders Aslund, Senior Fellow of the Future of Diplomacy Project, John F. Kennedy Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University Ambassador Ms. Paula Dobriansky, Deputy Assistant US Trade Representative for Russia and Eurasia, Office of the US Trade Representative, Ms. Elizabeth Hafner and the Adviser to the Board of Directors at Burisma Group Mr. Vadym Pozharskyi.

“Foreign investment is an essential component to ensure political and economic freedom in Ukraine. This is especially true for the energy industry which in recent years has been growing largely due to domestic investors. To attract foreign investors, Ukraine needs to provide more favorable conditions for doing business. I believe, our country can learn a lot from the United States in terms of creating a business environment that is conducive to making use of all the country’s potential and existing resources”, noted the Adviser to the Board of Directors at Burisma Group Mr. Vadym Pozharskyi.

The discussion focused on the dynamics and results of reforms in Ukraine, strengthening the role of domestic investors and attracting foreign investment, remaining risks and forecasts for future changes in the country.
