Meeting with Islamic Development Bank Group Vice President for Operations Dr. Mansur Muhtar

TAJIKISTAN, February 6 - On February 6, at the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the Vice President of the Islamic Development Bank Group for Operations, Dr. Mansur Muhtar.

Various aspects of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Islamic Development Bank were discussed at the meeting.

The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, expressed satisfaction with the level of mutually beneficial cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank and highly appreciated the Bank's contribution to the implementation of projects aimed at the socio-economic development of Tajikistan.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of investment projects in the areas of education, healthcare, energy, transport, irrigation and other priority socio-economic sectors of Tajikistan.

It was emphasized that during the period of independence of Tajikistan, the Islamic Development Bank implemented a number of important projects in our country, the total amount of which is more than 620 million dollars.

During the meeting, the interlocutors also considered issues of cooperation in the development and implementation of the Partnership Strategy between Tajikistan and the Islamic Development Bank, the need to finance measures to restore from post-pandemic crisis, reduce the impact of external factors on our economy, prevent and eliminate natural disasters, which in most cases cause great economic and financial losses and even human casualties.

Assistance in the development of infrastructure, implementation of projects for the construction and reconstruction of roads, energy facilities, restoration of the irrigation system and export of agricultural products were named as other areas of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two parties.
